      (Newser) - The Dallas Stars are taking their chase of the Stanley Cup into the second round of the playoffs - and the reigning champs aren't. Stephane Robidas, scored the tying goal on the power play early in the third period then set up Stu Barnes for the go-ahead goal 52 seconds later, sending the Stars past the Anaheim Ducks 4-1 last night.       (Newser) - Stu Barnes and Steve Ott scored third-period goals and Marty Turco came within 7.6 seconds of a shutout, sending the Dallas Stars past the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 tonight.  The loss puts the reigning Stanley Cup champions on the brink of elimination.       (Newser) - Anaheim finally played like the defending Stanley Cup champion—at least long enough to avoid a nearly insurmountable deficit. Chris Pronger scored two power-play goals after assisting on the Ducks' first goal and they held on for a 4-2 victory Tuesday night over the Dallas Stars, who lost for the seventh time in their last eight home playoff games.       (Newser) - Mike Modano and Brad Richards scored 55 seconds apart in the third period to lift the Dallas Stars to a 5-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks last night and give them a 2-0 series lead over the defending Stanley Cup champions. Modano scored on a slap shot during a power play at 5:47. Shortly afterward, Richards wristed a shot from the right circle between Jean-Sebastien Giguere's pads. More »

      Turco, Stars Blank Ducks 4-0

      (Newser) - Marty Turco put on an acrobatic show in goal and the Dallas Stars' power play provided more than enough offense to put the defending Stanley Cup champions in an early playoff hole. Turco earned his fourth career postseason shutout and Dallas defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-0 in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Thursday night. More »

      (Newser) - Chris Kunitz and Bobby Ryan scored 43 seconds apart in the third period against former teammate Ilya Bryzgalov, while Ryan Getzlaf had the deciding goal in the shootout to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Sunday.       Selanne Scores 2 Goals to Lift Ducks by Kings

      (Newser) - Teemu Selanne scored two goals, including the game-winner with 13:32 to play, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 last night. Selanne fired a wrist shot from the left circle past Kings goalie Dan Cloutier to break a 3-3 tie. Joe DiPenta and Ryan Getzlaf also scored and Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 28 shots for the Ducks, who won six of eight against their rivals this season. More »
