    • Jays' rally vs. Yankees comes too late

TORONTO -- It's been a frequently asked question that John Gibbons has simply grown tired of answering. In fact, that's the only type of fatigue that the Blue Jays manager was willing to talk about after Toronto's latest loss. The season is well into its sixth month, and a handful of the Blue Jays' pitchers have shown some signs of wearing down recently. On Wednesday night, Dustin McGowan labored through a five-inning outing against the Yankees, who sent Toronto to a 4-1 loss at Rogers Centre. Considering McGowan's inconsistent performance, it was hardly a surprise that Gibbons faced questions...

TORONTO -- Troy Glaus is done for the season. The Blue Jays third baseman is scheduled to undergo surgery on his left foot early next week, and Toronto is hopeful that Glaus will be fully recovered by Spring Training 2008. On Wednesday, Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi said that Glaus will have Dr. Phillip Kwong will perform a nerve decompression operation, which could take place as early as Monday in Los Angeles. Glaus has been battling plantar fasciitis in his left foot since the first week of the season, but the Jays are optimistic that the upcoming surgery can alleviate the issue before...

      'Stupid' Feud Continues

The Blue Jays third base coach accused two Yankees of "terrible" slides that endangered his middle infielders, a perpetuation of the bad blood between the teams that began with A-Rod's infielder-distracting yawp on May 30. Toronto second baseman Aaron Hill, however, has had enough of the sniping and the plunkings, calling the feud "stupid." More »

Benches Clear in Yanks Win Over Jays

Roger Clemens was ejected and the benches cleared twice yesterday in the Yankees tension-filled 9-2 win over the Blue Jays. Jays Snap Yanks' Win Streak

The Blue Jays snapped the Yankees' five-game winning streak yesterday in the Bronx, hammering ace Chien-Ming Wang in a 3-2 win. Wang, who had been masterful this season, blew a 2-0 lead by surrendering six hits in the seventh, and the Bombers' bats had no reply. More »

Yanks Down Jays in 10 Innings

The Yankees downed the Jays last night in the Bronx, taking an oddball outing, 3-2, in 10 innings. Two batters later, Robinson Cano singled to left, scoring Rodriquez. More »

      Jays Squawk about A-Rod's Yawp

The Blue Jays were still upset a day after Yankees star Alex Rodriguez confused Jays third baseman Howie Clark by yelling at him while running the bases in the ninth inning. Clark was preparing to snag a fly ball, but then stepped aside, thinking the shortstop was calling the catch for himself. The play led to three Yankees runs. More »
