Dallas used 70% shooting to outscore Memphis by 14 in the first quarter and then coasted, winning 103-84. Josh Howard made his first eight shots as part of the early barrage and totaled 26 points, reports AP. Dirk Nowitzki had 20 for the Mavs who have won 12 of 14 overall and 13 consecutive games over lowly Memphis, now 13-32.

A superior third quarter allowed Dallas to survive a barrage of points by the Lakers' Kobe Bryant late in the game last night, to win 112-105. Bryant, the second-leading scorer in the NBA, dropped in 40 for the second time since teammate Andrew Bynum was injured. Josh Howard and Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 26 points and 10 rebounds apiece.

The Seattle faithful let their team hear it, as the Sonics suffered an embarrassing 90-70 loss to the Mavericks last night. The loss marks Seattle's sixth straight, and fourth straight blow-out, reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
