      (Newser) - The Chicago Bulls beat the Seattle SuperSonics 123-96 for their fifth win in the past seven games. It appears that the Bulls are finally getting back on track after a disappointing start. Ben Gordon had 27 points and six assists and Luol Deng added 20 for the Bulls, who shot 53.7 percent from the floor, according to the Chicago Sun-Times . Clay Bennett isn’t satisfied with the Sonics’ current arena, where the lease expires in 2010; he gave the city a deadline to plan a new stadium, which passed this week.     • Allen Undergoes Successful Ankle Surgery

      SEATTLE %u2013 Sonics All-Star guard Ray Allen underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in both of his ankles earlier today. The procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Allen will be in a walking boot for 3-4 weeks, after which he will begin rehabilitation. The typical recovery period for this type of procedure generally lasts 2-3 months.
