On When News Is for the Rich, Newser Is Robin Hood...
Just wanted to note that in the last week Newser's run Krauthammer, Brooks, Noonan, Rove, George Will, Bret Stephens, Doug Hoffman, Daniel Henninger, not to speak of Bachmann, Palin, Limbaugh and Beck. None of them lefties, to say the least. Will look more at Redstate and Hot Air; we're actually quite serious about tracking the thinking on all sides.

I agree that they're posers--quite right--but I don't like the loaded weapons as props. And the way they style themselves as extreme patriots provoked to defend themselves. Lays the groundwork for bad shit.

On Why Skip Gates Really Got Arrested
Thanks for the correction on The Wire. I don't doubt that race played into the neighbor's call—and maybe the officers' response. I only doubt that the arrest would've happened if Gates hadn't wanted it to: He pushed them, insulted them and threatened them. As Obama said last night: they were stupid to arrest him. But for him, the arrest was a win.
