Fitness guru and reality-TV star Greg Plitt was hit and killed by a train in Burbank, Calif.—apparently while filming was underway. Witnesses tell ABC7 that the 37-year-old former Army Ranger was with a group of friends when he was hit by the Metrolink train Saturday afternoon. "He had on all black. The train went by. I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand," one train passenger says. Plitt starred in the Bravo reality-TV series Work Out and in Bravo's new Friends to Lovers series, as well as appearing in movies such as Terminator Salvation, in commercials, and on the covers of more than 250 fitness magazines.

Burbank police say the death appears to be an accident and that Plitt may have either misjudged the speed of the approaching train or believed he was on a different track. "We have no idea who was filming or why," a Burbank police spokesman tells the Los Angeles Times, although fellow fitness model Jamie Eason wrote on her Facebook page that Plitt was "filming a spot for his protein shake" when he was hit by the train. "There will be a void in the fitness industry and the whole world without you," she wrote. (More Greg Plitt stories.)
