Rose McGowan has accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her, and she is now detailing the alleged encounter in public for the first time, reports People. The 44-year-old writes about it in her new book, Brave, and the details come via a review in the New York Times. McGowan writes that she went to meet Weinstein at a hotel restaurant in Park City, Utah—they were there for the Sundance Film Festival—but a Weinstein assistant instead directed her up to Weinstein's suite. (The mogul is referred to as "the Monster" in the account.) McGowan writes that she was "certain we would be working together for many years to come, and we were here to plot out the grand arc of my career."
Weinstein, however, brought her into a room with a Jacuzzi, and McGowan writes that she froze "like a statue" while he removed her clothes. Then he directed her to the edge of the Jacuzzi, got in the water, and performed oral sex on her while masturbating. McGowan writes that she faked pleasure to make it end faster. Afterward, as McGowan considered pressing charges, she writes that Weinstein began bad-mouthing her to other industry execs as untrustworthy. “It seemed like every creep in Hollywood knew about my most vulnerable and violated moment,” she writes. “And I was the one who was punished for it.” (More Rose McGowan stories.)
