Tim Pawlenty declared open season on Mitt Romney today, equating Massachusetts' health reform with the federal overhaul in a mashup he termed "Obam-neyCare." “The president’s own words [are] that he patterned in large measure Obamacare after what happened in Massachusetts,” Pawlenty told Fox News. “What I don’t understand is that they both continue to defend it.” A Romney spokeswoman sought to deflect the attack, saying, "Republicans should keep the focus on President Obama’s failure to create jobs and control spending." GOP candidates debate tomorrow night in New Hampshire. Elsewhere on the Sunday dial, as per Politico:

  • Steny Hoyer on Anthony Weiner: “I would hope that Mr. Weiner would use this opportunity to reflect on whether he can effectively proceed. I don’t see how he can, and I hope he would make that judgment."
  • Paul Ryan wants Weiner to quit: “I don’t take pleasure in saying that (but) we’ve got important work to do and this is just a distraction.”
  • Debbie Wasserman Shultz: "At the end of the day a member of Congress makes their own decision and that's certainly going to be up to Anthony Weiner, but we have made clear that he needs to resign."
  • Reince Priebus on Dem leadership: "For the first 10 days, the only job that Nancy Pelosi was interested in saving was Anthony Wiener's."
