A Republican member of the Indiana House is refusing to honor the the Girl Scouts on its 100th birthday because the "radicalized" organization backs gays and abortions. Rep. Bob Morris ripped the Girl Scouts, which he considers the "tactical arm" of Planned Parenthood, for allowing transgendered children to join, and encouraging sex, according to a letter he sent to House Republicans and obtained by the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. "After talking to some well-informed constituents, I did a small amount of web-based research, and what I found is disturbing," wrote Morris, who accused the Girl Scouts of promoting "homosexual lifestyles."

A surprised Girl Scouts spokeswoman said the organization leaves sex and reproduction questions to girls' parents to deal with. Morris is the only member of House refusing to sign a proclamation honoring the Girl Scouts, who are in the middle of their big cookie sales. Two boxes of their Thin Mints and empty plastic cookie trays sat outside the House floor yesterday, notes the New York Daily News. (More Rep. Bob Morris stories.)
