Kentucky turned out to be just too good for Kansas to overcome in the NCAA men's basketball final. The Wildcats—who dominated most opponents this season—beat the Jayhawks 67-59 to win their eighth national title and their first since 1998, reports the Wall Street Journal. Kentucky's Anthony Davis—selected as Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four—had an incredible night despite finishing with just six points.
Davis, expected to be the No. 1 pick in June's NBA draft, tied Joakim Noah's individual record for blocks in the NCAA championship game with six, grabbed 16 rebounds, and had five assists and three steals, AP notes. The title win is Kentucky coach John Calipari's first in four trips to the Final Four with three different schools. (Read more NCAA basketball stories.)
