(Newser) – Forget your concerns about the eurozone—we've got a real crisis on our hands. Northeasterners are grappling with a shortage of three crucial Good Humor bars: the Toasted Almond, Chocolate Eclair, and Candy Center Crunch. The company blames the problem on high demand during a hot spring. "We are confident that all issues will be resolved by mid-summer," says a rep. That might not be soon enough for some; indeed, a Long Island lawmaker called a press conference yesterday to discuss the matter, Gawker notes.

"The Toasted Almond's such an old-time thing from the 1950s," says an ice cream truck owner. "It's just such a basic thing we've always had." The West Coast hasn't felt the pain; Toasted Almond just isn't as popular there, the AP reports. There is hope, however, for the Northeast, where you can still snap up the bars in grocery stores. We at Newser aren't the only ones who are worried:

  • Gawker has tagged the story "End of Days."
  • The Consumerist warns of a "Horrific Ice Cream Bar Shortage."
  • The New York Post calls it "one heck of an ice cream headache."
