Google: No, We Didn't Kill a Donkey
Google defended itself today from accusations that a Google Street View car had run over a donkey in Botswana.   (Google Maps: http://google-latlong.blogspot.ca/2013/01/never-ass-ume.html)

No, Google is not a donkey killer. The Internet giant went on the defensive after a Google Street View image that looked as if the Street View car had run over a donkey in Botswana began making the rounds on Twitter. But appearances can be deceiving: Google released additional images taken by the car that show the donkey was merely dozing (or "enjoying a dust bath") and safely got out of the way in time. "I’m pleased to confirm the donkey is alive and well," a Google product manager wrote on the Google Maps blog. (In other Street View news...)
