The massive tornado that hit Moore, Okla., yesterday left scenes of utter devastation but there were also moments of hope as survivors were found in the rubble. AP photographer Sue Ogrocki arrived at the destroyed Plaza Towers Elementary School expecting to find a scene of chaos, but instead found it "calm and orderly as police and firefighters pulled children out one-by-one from underneath a large chunk of a collapsed wall."
"In the 30 minutes I was outside the destroyed school, I photographed about a dozen children pulled from under the rubble," Ogrocki writes. "I focused my lens each one of them. Some looked dazed. Some cried. Others seemed terrified. But they were alive." Click for Ogocki's full account, or more on the tornado. (Read more tornado stories.)
