Your New Year's Resolution: 10 Apps for That
The easiest way to achieve three of the most popular 2011 New Year's resolutions to lose weight, eat healthier and save money is to eat more fruits and vegetables.   (c)iStockphoto.com/jcguardia)

So you went ahead and made one or two of those New Year's resolutions people are so fond of making and so bad at keeping. But this year, Time rounds up 10 apps to help you lose weight, exercise more, budget, better manage your time, or whatever you've resolved. A couple of highlights:

  • Fooducate: Want to eat healthier? This free app lets you scan a barcode and gives you an A to D rating based on an algorithm derived from nutritionists.

  • Lose It! The obligatory weight-loss app is "essentially a calorie tracker wrapped inside an elegant interface." The base version is free, or you can get fancy for $40 a year.
  • Mint: This free budgeting app puts all your nickels in one place and will help you get your financial house in order.
  • QuitSTART: If kicking the cigarette habit is in your January, this app is free and government approved. It tracks your cravings, triggers, and progress.
Click for the rest of the list, which includes an app that—no joke—gives you the best time for a bathroom break during a movie. (More apps stories.)
