A 33-year-old woman was killed in a freak accident in a Walgreens parking lot, but authorities say she managed to push her 10-year-old daughter to safety first, reports KSDK-TV. Colleen Segbers died yesterday when an SUV accelerated suddenly and pinned her against a pillar. Police say the 58-year-old driver of the SUV apparently failed to put the vehicle in park after pulling into her spot, and the SUV began to roll as she fiddled with the radio, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She tried to hit the brake but hit the gas instead, and the SUV accelerated toward Segbers and her daughter. A GoFundMe site is up for the family. (More mother stories.)
