Alison Williams is willing to pay cash or offer up some "good ole' fashioned Canadian maple syrup" if someone can help her track down a very special sweatshirt in Oklahoma, per her post on Reddit. The Toronto woman is on a mission to help her best friend of 20 years, Jennifer Hovis, who recently lost her mom and her mom's white sweatshirt with an angel and the word "Peace" on the front, the CBC reports. After Hovis' mother died unexpectedly, her dad gathered up a bunch of her mom's clothes and donated them to Goodwill in Oklahoma, but "there was one sweatshirt that shouldn't have gone," Williams tells the broadcaster. When Jennifer's dad hurried back to the dropoff location, he was told the clothes were put on a truck and distributed to different Oklahoma Goodwill locations—11 in all. "It's special to [Hovis] because it's one little piece of her mom that she could hang on to if we can find this shirt," Williams writes on Reddit.

She notes that she called Goodwill's central location and that "they were very understanding," adding to the CBC that a Goodwill manager even promised to pass around a photo of the sweatshirt to employees in the hopes someone will recognize it. But Williams says on Reddit that she wants to go beyond a simple phone call to help out Hovis, with whom she grew up in Mississippi. "I'm in Toronto, Canada, and obviously can't visit the stores myself," she writes. "If you are in a Goodwill store or even close to one in the Tulsa area, would you please, please go in and look for the shirt?" And locals are answering her call, even though she acknowledges to the CBC that "it's a needle in the haystack." "I am optimistic just because so many good people have come forward and offered to help in any way they can," she says. "Somebody is going to see this sweatshirt. I want to make sure that person hears about this story somewhere." (A guy found a $35K watch at Goodwill for $5.99.)
