For anyone who has ever had a tough criticism of Justin Bieber's music: the Hanson brothers may have just definitively won the verbal joust. In an interview with Australia's Hit107 FM, Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson (yes, of "MMMBop" fame) were playing a game of "Whose Song is it Anyway?" and failed to recognize the chart-topper "Despacito," in this case a remix that features Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Bieber. Then came the burn: "Can I just say I’m glad I didn’t know what that was," an unspecified brother said, per news.au.com. "I prefer not to get any venereal diseases so whenever Justin Bieber gets near me or near my ears ... it’s just ear infections, they’re terrible."
Then, in a reference to the fact that most koalas are infected with chlamydia, this: "It’s like hanging out with a koala. Chlamydia of the ear, it sucks." At Junkee, Osman Faruqi isn't impressed with the dig, nor with the brothers' lack of current musical know-how. "'Despacito' is the biggest song in the world right now," he writes. "It's everywhere. Even your parents (know) about it. It's gone 34 times platinum in the US. THIRTY-FOUR TIMES PLATINUM." NME reports Fonsi, meanwhile, just stuck up for Bieber, who, in a late May performance, apparently forgot the Spanish lyrics and instead sang "blah, blah, blah." (Read more Justin Bieber stories.)
