Do your resolutions for the new year include sprucing up your resume and getting a real job? Arizona, which claims four of the top 10 spots in WalletHub's ranking of US cities with the best job prospects, might be the place for you. The site looked at 182 cities across the nation and examined them across more than two dozen metrics in the "job market" and "socioeconomic" categories, including unemployment rates, job satisfaction, and median annual income. Here, the 10 best and worst cities for employment, as well as their total score out of 100:

  1. Chandler, Ariz.; 67.7
  2. Scottsdale, Ariz.; 66.3
  3. San Francisco; 66.1
  4. Peoria, Ariz.; 65.9 (No. 1 in the "job market" category)
  5. Gilbert, Ariz.; 65.4
  6. Plano, Texas; 64.7
  7. Portland, Maine; 63.1
  8. Irvine, Calif.; 62.9
  9. Madison, Wis.; 62.4 (No. 1 in the "socioeconomics" category)
  10. Boston; 62.4
