Inside Edition's Deborah Norville made two surprise announcements Monday: One, she has thyroid cancer, and two, a viewer helped discover it. It was "a long time ago" that the female viewer reached out about a lump she'd seen on Norville's neck, according to a minute-long video shared via YouTube. Norville, who hadn't noticed anything, visited a doctor who assured her that the thyroid nodule was benign. And that was the case "until recently"—it has since grown into "a very localized form of cancer," Norville says, per USA Today, noting she'll be absent following surgery on Tuesday. "We live in a world of 'see something, say something,' and I'm really glad we do," she adds. (An HGTV host learned of his thyroid cancer in the same way.)
