Cops: Man's Revenge Involved Dog Poop Bomb
Robb Alexander Stout.   (Multnomah County Sheriff's Office)

A different kind of "dirty" bomb: An Oregon man who was angry at a former friend created a dog poop bomb in a toolbox and left it on the back of the man's vehicle, police say. According to court papers, the toolbox was rigged to explode when it was opened and when the man lifted the lid, "it exploded with such force that it sounded like an M80 going off and the dog scat was blown out of the toolbox," the Oregonian reports. Police say suspect Robb Alexander Stout, 48, created the device using "dog excrement, a battery, wiring, switches, and a vehicle airbag that had the fabric restraint removed." Stout wasn't charged with assault, suggesting the friend wasn't injured by the blast.

Police say that when they interviewed Stout, he told them he had fallen out with the friend because he failed to return something that belonged to him. He said they used to enjoy watching YouTube videos of people pulling pranks. Stout also said he had used feces from his own dog, as well as more dog poop he had found in a courtyard. Stout faces a felony charge of manufacturing a destructive device, KOIN reports. The Portland resident, who has eight drug convictions, was also charged with being a felon in possession of a gun, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, and possession of methamphetamine after police searched his home. (A Home Depot worker thought a joke in the men's bathroom was a bomb warning.)
