Crazy Outfits Abound at 'Camp' Met Gala

The theme was "camp" at this year's Met Gala and co-chair Lady Gaga once again had one of the most eye-catching outfits at one of the fashion world's biggest events of the year. Make that four outfits—the singer started out in a billowing pink outfit, then revealed a black gown underneath, which had a slim-fitting pink dress underneath, which she took off to reveal a bra-and-panties outfit, the BBC reports. The Monday night event at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art was held as a benefit for the Costume Institute. Other top looks, which can be see in the gallery:

• Katy Perry. She was "literally lit," reports USA Today: Her outfit, including a 40-pound headpiece, was a chandelier, which glowed with the help of two hidden battery packs.

• Zendaya. She was also lit: Her Cinderella Tommy Hilfiger dress glowed after a "magic" wand was waved, the AP reports.
• Janelle Monae. "Someone somewhere would define camp as 'a hat on a hat,' so here we are," quips Kenzie Bryant at Vanity Fair.
• Ezra Miller. Behind a mask on a stick was Miller—with five additional eyes, thanks to some deeply unsettling make-up.
• Tiffany Haddish. Haddish not only had 57,000 sequins on her pantsuit, she sneaked in a bag of fried chicken, W Magazine reports. "I bring my own snacks because last year I was starving and I learned my lesson," she said.
• Jared Leto. CNET reports that the actor had one of the night's more unusual accessories: a wax replica of his own head, which he "carried around like a macabre purse."

• Michael Urie. The Ugly Betty star went for a gender-fluid look: his outfit was half dress, half tuxedo, and his face was half beard, half make-up.
• Billy Porter. "Camp is the art of being extra and I've always been extra," said Porter. Dressed as what the AP calls an "Egyptian-esque sun god in gold wings," he was carried to the red carpet in a throne by shirtless men in gold pants.
• Ryan Murphy. The American Horror Story creator wore a pearl-studded, Liberace-inspired outfit that weighed at least 100 pounds, the New York Times reports. "Once you're strapped in there’s no getting out of it," he said. "But it's really, really fun."
• Regina King. King, who wore a shimmering Dynasty-inspired Oscar de la Renta gown, told People that it took her around four hours to get ready for the event—including a break for tequila.
• Jordan Roth. The theme wasn't "Dress as your job," but theater owner Roth still turned up dressed as a theater.
