Every year, a new round of monikers is prepped in advance for that year's hurricanes, and 2019's just made landfall. The United Nations' World Meteorological Organization has posted its list for the soon-to-arrive hurricane season, which USA Today notes kicks off June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. Axios explains the intricacies of naming the storms, which includes six master lists that rotate, with names on each being retired if they caused massive loss of life or damage (that's why we'll never see Katrina, Maria, or Sandy again). Read on for the A-to-Z list, not counting names starting with "Q," "U," "X," "Y," or "Z" (those letters are never used):

  • Andrea
  • Barry
  • Chantal
  • Dorian
  • Erin
  • Fernand
  • Gabrielle
  • Humberto
  • Imelda
  • Jerry
  • Karen
  • Lorenzo
  • Melissa
  • Nestor
  • Olga
  • Pablo
  • Rebekah
