It's been a few decades since the Diceman's heyday, but he's still touring—and this time it's with Roseanne Barr. The two controversial comics, who performed together in Las Vegas in March, announced their "Mr and Mrs America" comedy tour Sunday, Variety reports. It will kick off at Long Island's Paramount Theater on Sept. 19. Clay, 61, says he has been friends with Barr, 66, for 30 years. He says the tour was inspired by the country's obsession with political discourse and its alleged "policing" of what comedians say. ABC fired Barr from the Roseanne reboot last year after she described former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett as the offspring of "the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes."

"She's a comic because she's wacky. I've known her since we were kids," Clay tells Fox. "When people ask about what she said, I say, 'She's a comic!' We gotta stop policing comedians. This is America." He adds: "She's an original, I'm an original, and people should just stop reading Twitter. Calm down with your political conversations." Clay has had controversies of his own: He has long been criticized for sexist humor and received a "lifetime ban" from MTV in 1989, though he said in 2011 that it had been lifted. He apparently has no political ambitions—for now. "I decided not to run for president because it would be embarrassing for everybody else losing," he quips. "It would be too easy."
