Mad Men Star Confesses 20-Year-Old Secret

Christina Hendricks has long been lauded for both her acting skills and her beauty, including her "perfect complexion, shiny red hair, [and] pouty lips," but now there's another body part for which she can claim bragging rights. People reports on a surprise revelation made Thursday by the Mad Men and Good Girls star: that a well-known poster for the 1999 movie American Beauty stars her very own hand. "Fun fact ... wait for it ... I used to be a model and sometimes a hand model," Hendricks posted on Instagram, along with an image of the famous film poster, which shows a hand lying on top of a bare stomach, clutching a rose. "This is my hand and another model's stomach ... proud to be a part if this film in ANY WAY!!!"

The online reverberations were instant. "This is important. How come I didn't know this?" replied Mad Men co-star January Jones. "Wait ... What!?" was Busy Philipps' response. And from Elle Fanning: "IM SHOOK!!!!!!" Both People and Us Weekly point out some other little-known facts about the 44-year-old actress: that she was trained as a classical dancer, is afraid of putting her face underwater, and wasn't always a redhead, as evidenced in a July Instagram post that showed a darker-haired look she rocked in high school.
