(Newser) Tiger who? Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn has been dating New Jersey Devils star PK Subban since early last year, and now the couple is "taking things to the next level," per People, which confirms they are engaged. Although rumors of a romantic relationship got their jump-start in April 2018, it wasn't until two months later, at the CMT Music Awards, that the two made it official. The pair talked to Vogue about how they met at a Nickelodeon event, when Vonn was dating someone else. When she broke up with that boyfriend, she and Subban started talking on the phone, and four months later, they had their second meeting. "Right off the bat, I knew he was different," Vonn recalls. "But I'd been married before [to ex-skier Thomas Vonn], so I was pretty hesitant to let myself think that I could find someone that I would want to be married to again."

Subban soon changed the mind of Vonn, who also dated Tiger Woods for several years before meeting Subban. "After a few months of dating, I knew he was the one I wanted to be with," she says. "He makes me happy, and he's so positive and energetic." As for Subban, he gushes, "Lindsey's the best thing that’s ever happened to me. ... She deserves to be with someone who loves her more than anything else in the world, and I do." Subban proposed with a green emerald ring at home, with Vonn's three dogs as witnesses. There's no word on a wedding date. "We're not in a big hurry to get married," Vonn says. "It kind of depends on his playing schedule, and when we have time to sit down and go through it."
