Things have gotten testy between President Trump and his favorite network, Fox News. Now, after Trump complained to his supporters that "Fox isn't working for us anymore!" network host Neil Cavuto has responded with a four-minute critique of the president. (You can watch it here.) “First of all, Mr. President, we don’t work for you," said Cavuto on Thursday's show, per the Hill. "I don’t work for you. My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you, just report on you." He then ticked off a long list of what he called inaccurate statements by the president, or times Trump contradicted himself on big issues. "Just like I'm not the one who said Mexico would pay for the wall, you did," Cavuto said.
"Just like I'm not the one who claimed that Russia didn't meddle in the 2016 election, you did." And more: "Just like you never paid to silence a porn star until it turns out you did," Cavuto said, referring to Stormy Daniels. "Never ordered your former White House counsel Don McGahn to fire [former special counsel] Bob Mueller, until we learned you tried," said Cavuto. He also pointed how how Trump has quickly reversed himself on issues such as background checks for guns. Trump has not responded to the piece. (Former press secretary Sarah Sanders will soon begin working at Fox as a contributor.)
