He appeared behind bongos, not a podium, but it was still unmistakably Sean Spicer on Dancing With the Stars on Monday night. The former White House press secretary made what Matt Wilstein at the Daily Beast calls the "most embarrassing debut ever" in the premiere of the show's 28th season. He danced a salsa to "Spice Up Your Life" with season 25 champ Lindsay Arnold. "What were you doing there?" judge Bruno Tonioli asked him. "It's like you were being attacked by a swarm of wasps." Arnold said Spicer's "danceability is like at a pre-preschool level." Spicer received a score of 12—the second lowest, above Lamar Odom's 11. Mediaite rounds up some of the best social media reactions. (Host Tom Bergeron says he would have preferred to avoid "divisive bookings.")
