"My life was upended by their actions, and I refuse to be intimidated any longer." So said Rose McGowan Wednesday after filing suit against Harvey Weinstein and his former associates, USA Today reports. The racketeering suit makes 11 complaints—including fraud, wiretapping, computer crimes, and invasion of privacy—against Weinstein, his ex-lawyers David Boies and Lisa Bloom, and the London-based spy firm Black Cube. In short, the actor says they conspired to discredit and suppress her sexual assault allegation against Weinstein, then obtained a copy of her working memoir Brave through a spy who illegally recorded her chats with McGowan, per Variety. Former Amazon Studios head Roy Price is also accused of RICO activity but isn't named as a defendant.

"This case is about a diabolical and illegal effort by one of America's most powerful men and his representatives to silence sexual-assault victims," says the suit. "And it is about the courageous women and journalists who persisted to reveal the truth." But denials are already rolling in, including one from Weinstein lawyer Phyllis Kupferstein: "Once and for all, Rose McGowan will be shown to be what she is: a publicity seeker looking for money," she tells the Hollywood Reporter. "From the moment she sought a multimillion-dollar payout in return for not making these baseless allegations, which we rejected, we knew that she was waiting for an opportune time to begin this." McGowan has received a $100,000 settlement over her rape allegation against Weinstein. (More Harvey Weinstein stories.)
