Investigators have pieced together the final moments of the Atlanta student whose body was found last week. Alexis Crawford was choked, strangled with a trash bag, and smothered, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. Authorities say the 21-year-old Clark Atlanta University senior had recently returned from buying alcohol with her roommate, Jordyn Jones, when the women got into a physical altercation in their on-campus apartment in the wee hours of Oct. 31. Then, police say, Jones' boyfriend, Barron Brantley, got involved and ultimately strangled Crawford to death. Jones is also accused of strangling Crawford. A family spokesperson said Crawford had previously considered Jones, whom she met freshman year, her best friend, and that Jones had spent holidays with Crawford's family.

"Afterwards Jones and Brantley placed Alexis Crawford in a plastic bin and transported her body to Exchange Park in Decatur, GA, where they placed her body in the woods," an Atlanta Police Department report states. After Crawford's family reported her missing, Jones initially told police she and her roommate weren't on speaking terms and that she didn't know where Crawford was, ABC News reports. But after a weeklong search, authorities say Brantley admitted to police he had killed her and Jones led them to her body. Jones and Brantley, both 21, are charged with felony murder. (Days before her death, Crawford had accused Brantley of sexual assault.)
