An 18-year-old Michigan man has been charged with murder, and prosecutors say the evidence against him is compelling: Moments before his girlfriend, India Mackey, was shot dead, she filmed Kevin Dixon loading a handgun and talking about the bullet he was going to shoot her with, ABC reports. "You think I'm playing, huh," Dixon tells Mackey, who turned 20 before the Nov. 19 shooting in Warren, a suburb of Detroit. Police say Dixon shot Mackey in a van parked outside his home. When police stopped the van 20 minutes later because Dixon was driving erratically, they found Mackey's body in the passenger seat. "Everything about this case is just awful and this, certainly, just adds to it," Macomb County prosecutor Eric Smith says of the video.

Mackey's relatives say Dixon, who faces charges including first-degree murder, had been dating her for around a year, the Detroit Free Press reports. Smith says that after Dixon was arrested, he called his mother and told her to get rid of the murder weapon. She was arrested after she came to his arraignment Thursday and was charged with tampering with evidence and being an accessory after the fact. "This is the sixth murder case resulting from a domestic violence situation my office has received in the past two months," Smith says. "Please, if you are facing an imminent violent situation, leave the situation immediately and call police. Do not stay and record the incident. It could be the difference between life and death."
