If you watched Love Actually and dreamily wished Hugh Grant would one day come knocking at your door, we have good news for you: He might. That is, if you live in London, where the actor is going door to door canvassing with anti-Brexit candidates ahead of the UK's Dec. 12 general election. Mashable notes it will be the country's first December election since 1923—"unless, of course, you count the festive election in Love Actually, which elected David the dancing PM." Luciana Berger, the first candidate Grant campaigned with, is a Liberal Democrat, and Grant explained while out on the trail that while he's not been "a lifelong Lib Dem supporter," he is against Brexit. Per the Guardian, he said Monday he's "banging the drum for tactical voting" and urging voters to vote against Conservative candidates in an effort to defeat Brexit.

He said he's concerned about "a Tory majority who will take us out of the EU and in an almost certainly chaotic fashion." "The real reason I'm here is, like so many of the population now, poll after poll has shown Britain has changed its mind," he said Sunday, per the New European. He was canvassing with another Lib Dem, Chuka Umunna, Monday, and later plans to canvas with Independent candidate Dominic Grieve; he'll also support Labour's Faiza Shaheen. One anti-Brexit resident who got a visit from Grant and Berger said it made a difference to him and he would think carefully before his vote; his daughter, 10, wasn't so much worried about politics: "He [Grant] is so amazing, he's in Paddington, he's in Two Weeks [Notice], it's like, oh my God, someone famous is outside my window—it was so awesome," she said.
