Sopranos actress Annabella Sciorra took the stand Thursday in the Harvey Weinstein trial to detail his alleged rape of her in the early 1990s. Sciorra, now 59, says Weinstein barged into her New York City apartment after a group dinner they both attended and forced himself upon her. “I was punching him. I was kicking him. I was just trying to get him off of me," she said, per the AP. Weinstein overpowered her, however, and seized her hands while he raped her, she said. “I didn’t have very much fight left inside me,” Sciorra testified. “My body shut down. It was just so disgusting that my body started to shake in a way that was very unusual. I didn’t even know what was happening. It was like a seizure or something.” She said she confronted him about a month later, and he told her menacingly, "This remains between you and I."

Sciorra is the first of four women expected to testify against the former Hollywood mogul as prosecutors seek to lay out a long pattern of sexual abuse, per USA Today. The particular charges in the trial involve two other women. Sciorra told jurors she told few people about the alleged attack "because I wanted to get back to my life," adding, “I would say at the time that I felt rape was something that happened in a back alley in a dark place by somebody you didn’t know holding a gun to your head," per the Hollywood Reporter. She also said she thought Weinstein was a "nice guy" before the encounter. Weinstein has insisted that any sexual encounters were consensual, and he told reporters Wednesday upon leaving court that he felt "very confident" about his case. The 67-year-old could spend the rest of his life in prison if found guilty. (More Harvey Weinstein stories.)
