A 66-year-old woman was arrested Saturday evening at a hotel in Louisiana after a rather extraordinary day on the lam with her 12-year-old granddaughter, reports CNN. Police say that Evelyn Miller was carrying a pistol on Friday afternoon when she walked into a hospital in Jefferson Parish with the intention of walking out with Adreana Miller. Per the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, via NBC News: "When hospital staff attempted to prevent her from leaving with the child, she pointed a firearm at several of them. In making her escape from the location, she pushed one nurse to the ground and struck a security guard with her vehicle." Police found the pair, both unharmed, at a hotel in Bogalusa, about 70 miles north of New Orleans. Evelyn Miller will be extradited to Jefferson Parish; she is charged with suspicion of kidnapping.
