It's not yet clear why an ABC News journalist has been disciplined by his network—but it's apparently the result of yet another Project Veritas "sting." Sources tell the Washington Post that longtime correspondent David Wright has been suspended, reportedly for comments he made while unknowingly being recorded by operatives of Project Veritas, a right-wing activist group founded by James O'Keefe. In a Tuesday tweet, O'Keefe promised that on Wednesday, his group "will expose ABC News' agenda to mislead voters and push their own narratives," noting, "You aren't going to want to miss it." He added later Tuesday that "the correspondent involved" had been suspended, though he didn't identify Wright by name. The Post's sources say network officials reviewed the footage Wright was allegedly seen in before making the suspension decision.

O'Keefe and Project Veritas have long gone after journalists and outlets in the mainstream media, as well as left-leaning political groups, with undercover videos. In 2017, the Post exposed an apparent plan by a woman believed to be a Project Veritas operative to plant a fake story in the paper alleging she'd been impregnated as a teen by Senate candidate Roy Moore. More recently, a video captured by Project Veritas showed ABC anchor Amy Robach complaining into a hot mic she was frustrated a report she'd compiled on Jeffrey Epstein was never aired.
