Official List of Possible Signs of Coronavirus Infection Grows

The list of possible symptoms of the coronavirus has grown. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its official list of indicators, CBS reports, which had been just fever, cough and shortness of breath. The last one has been elaborated on, as well. The signs that you might have the coronavirus now are:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

The changes are in response to the range of ways patients have been affected, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The World Health Organization says the most common symptoms are fever, dry cough, and tiredness. The CDC also lists "emergency warning signs" that should prompt seeking medical attention immediately:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion or inability to arouse
  • Bluish lips or face
