The two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies who were shot in the head in an ambush are now out of hospital. Officials announced the release of the female deputy, a 31-year-old mother, on Monday. The 24-year-old male deputy was released on Wednesday. Both are to enter long-term care facilities, per KNBC. "They both have a long road to recovery and LASD appreciates your continued prayers and all the support,'' the sheriff's department says. Some $720,000 has been raised for their care. Meanwhile, the search continues for their assailant, who fired without provocation on a parked police SUV in Compton on Sept. 12, before fleeing on foot. A reward of at least $300,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction, per KTLA. (More Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department stories.)
