What to Buy, and Not to Buy on Prime Day

(Newser) – Tuesday is a big day for those in the market for a new iPhone, a tech toy, a vacuum, or pretty much any item under the sun. It's not only Amazon Prime Day, but Apple will unveil its new phone lineup. Coverage:

  • Apple: At the company's 1pm ET launch, CNET expects Apple to unveil the iPhone 12 with fast 5G connectivity. Because of the latter, demand is expected to be high, per the Wall Street Journal.
  • Prime Day deals: The sales run through Wednesday, and guides galore are out there on bargains. CNBC notes that in the early going, the Toshiba 32-inch Smart HD Fire TV is going for $119.00, more than 30% off. Meanwhile, Levi’s, Barbie, and Hot Wheels toys are 40% off, as are Dewalt and Craftsman tools.
