Cops: Man Stole Ambulance, Went to Jack in the Box
Renaldo Leonard.   (Smoking Gun)

Car theft can really work up your appetite. At least that appears to be the case in a story out of Houston, where police say a man stole an ambulance on Thursday night, then promptly headed to a local drive-thru to grab a bite. "Paramedics were on a call when [a] male jumped in and drove off," Houston Police noted in a tweet. Cops say the suspect, IDed as 36-year-old Renaldo Leonard, headed about 4 miles to a nearby Jack in the Box and got on the drive-thru line, with the vehicle's emergency lights still on, per the Smoking Gun. Cops got there almost immediately (maybe they saw the lights of the $150,000-plus vehicle?) and arrested Leonard on charges of felony theft. Due to Leonard's previous convictions for robbery and drug possession, prosecutors are pushing for no bail. No word on why the suspect may have wanted the ambulance. (More weird crimes stories.)
