Last year, Canada Goose announced it would only purchase reclaimed fur. This year, it's going further. The luxury parka maker says it will stop buying fur entirely by the end of this year, and will cease using fur in its winter coats by the end of next year, the BBC reports. The company has been working toward sustainability and eco-consciousness in recent years, but it has also been under pressure from animal rights groups to stop using coyote fur in its products.

A Humane Society International exec says fur is a "dying industry on its knees from the punches of so many top designers and retailers walking away from the PR-nightmare of fur." PETA, which protested the company's use of coyote fur for 15 years, says it will now cease that campaign and pivot toward a call for the company to halt its use of goose and duck feathers, the Guardian reports.
