Rugged actor Patrick Swayze, battling pancreatic cancer, gave a thumbs up sign to onlookers and declared himself  a "miracle" as he passed through Los Angeles' airport. It was a rare public appearance by the 55-year-old actor, who's currently shooting a TV drama series in Chicago in which he plays an FBI agent, reports US Magazine. "I'm a miracle, dude," he told a group of photographers. "I don't know why."

He appeared fit, and his doctors at Standford Medical Center have said he is responding well to treatment. He is also reportedly relying on a healthy diet to battle the cancer. "My treatments are working and I am winning the battle," he said last month. "I am juicing every day along with other treatments, and all I can say is that it's working really well."
