Troubled Son 'Outs' Celeb Architect

Celebrity architect Richard Meier’s son claims his dad locked him up in a mental hospital and is trying to disinherit him for revealing that his 73-year-old dad is gay. Richard Meier's friends insist he's straight, but Joseph Meier plans to write a book "about my tragic experience with a gay father that didn't want to come out of the closet," he told the New York Post.

After Richard Meier tried to have Joseph, 28, declared “paranoid for no reason,” his son says, he hired lawyers to get himself sprung from the hospital. Meier’s rep said the architect was "shocked and saddened" by his son's accusations and that “he and Joseph's mother are trying to reach out to him to make sure he is all right."
