Meghan McCain likes sex—a point she made several times last night on The Colbert Report, Gawker reports. Asked by host Stephen Colbert to explain her “pro-sex” stance, she started out by saying abstinence is unrealistic—and ended with “I would never want to practice anything I didn’t preach…” It was halfway into Colbert’s next question before she realized, “My father’s gonna watch that, God!”

“I don’t think he watches this show,” Colbert reassured her. After discussing gay marriage (“You’re more liberal than President Obama,” Colbert told pro-gay marriage McCain) and the GOP’s future (“I don’t believe Twittering is gonna make anyone think the Republican Party is cooler,” said McCain), and not discussing Sarah Palin, the conversation circled right back to sex: The GOP “can be a party for a 24-year-old pro-sex woman,” McCain insisted. "When you say 'pro-sex woman' I think the Republicans' numbers go north," quipped Colbert in response.
