Oliver Stone is nothing if not ambitious. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the director is prepping a 10-part documentary series entitled Secret History of America, which promises to examine important but under-reported events from the past 60 years. Stone, who will provide the narration himself, calls the Showtime project “the deepest contribution I could ever make in film to my children and the next generation.”

“I can only hope a change in our thinking will result,” he said. The topics under Stone’s microscope include the decision to drop the atomic bombs, the Vietnam War, the Cold War in general, and, of course, the Kennedy assassination. The series should hit in 2010. (More Oliver Stone stories.)
