Cincinnati wide receiver Chris Henry died at 6:36am this morning from injuries he sustained falling off the back of a pickup truck in what police described as a “domestic dispute.” Officers found Henry lying in the street near Interstate 85 outside of Charlotte just before noon yesterday, and rushed him to the hospital.

Police say Henry had been having a domestic dispute with fiancé Loleini Tonga, which climaxed when she tried to leave in a pickup truck, only to have Henry leap into the back as she drove off. Half a mile later, Henry “came out of the back,” according to police. Despite the dispute, Tonga has been by Henry’s bedside at the hospital, her mother told the Charlotte Observer.
