NEW YORK (AP) — Big gains by Amazon, Microsoft and Google sending technology stocks to a higher close.

The broader market also rose Friday, but not as much. The Nasdaq composite rose again, a day after beating its record-high close from the peak of the dot-com boom 15 years ago.

Amazon soared 14 percent after revealing details about its cloud computing service for the first time. Microsoft and Google also rose after reporting their latest quarterly results.

The Nasdaq composite gained 36 points, or 0.7 percent, to 5,092.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 21 points, or 0.1 percent, to 18,080.

The Standard & Poor's 500 rose four points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,117. The S&P 500 also closed at a record high, beating its mark from March 2 by less than a point.
