WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton will personally do outreach to potential donors for a super PAC backing her presidential campaign, deepening Democratic acceptance of the outside groups.

President Barack Obama reluctantly supported Priorities USA Action during his 2012 re-election campaign. While some of his top advisers appeared at Priorities events, Obama did not.

Priorities is now backing Clinton, though it has been unclear how direct her involvement with the group would be.

Republicans have embraced super PACs more vigorously than Democrats. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who is aggressively fundraising for his super PAC, plans to outsource many campaign functions to the group.

The Clinton campaign says Democrats have to have the resources to fight back.
