Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan says the White House party crashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, were stopped in a limousine near the White House Wednesday evening.

President Barack Obama was hosting a state dinner Wednesday in honor of Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Donovan says the Salahis' limousine drove through a red light and signaled to turn into a restricted area. The vehicle was stopped by a Secret Service uniformed officer.

The limo driver was ticketed for running a red light.

The Salahis have been under investigation for attending Obama's first state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last November even though they were not on a guest list.
