A Swiss man has pleaded guilty to spray-painting graffiti on a Singapore subway car and could be caned as punishment.

The sentence for 32-year-old Oliver Fricker was to be decided later Friday. He pleaded guilty to one count each of vandalism and trespassing. A second vandalism charge was dropped but submitted to the judge for consideration in Fricker's sentence.

He broke into a train depot and drew graffiti on a subway car on May 16. Vandalism carries a fine or jail time, in addition to three to eight strokes of a cane.

Prosecutors said Fricker committed the crimes with Lloyd Dane Alexander, a British national who is at large.
