A well-rested Rafael Nadal cruised into the Madrid Open semifinals after overwhelming Michael Llodra 6-2, 6-2 on Friday.

The top-ranked Spaniard had little difficulty in dispatching his French opponent after reaching the quarterfinals when Juan Martin Del Potro withdrew from their third-round match on Thursday. Nadal stretched his latest clay court winning streak to 36 matches. He's attempting to win his second straight Madrid title.

Nadal will play either Roger Federer or Robin Soderling on Saturday.

Earlier, Thomaz Bellucci beat Tomas Berdych 7-6 (2), 6-3 to reach the last four.

In the women's draw, German player Julia Goerges will face Victoria Azarenka of Belarus after the pair won their respective quarterfinal matches.
