Samba dancers in orange feathers have greeted Britain's Prince Harry at an event at Rio de Janeiro's Sugarloaf Mountain.

About 700 Brazilians, British expats and others attended Friday's soiree at the Rio landmark, whisked to the top of the massive rocky outcropping aboard two cable cars.

The 27-year-old prince arrived in Rio de Janeiro early Friday from Jamaica after earlier stops in Belie and the Bahamas on a Diamond Jubilee tour in honor of Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrates 60 years on the throne.

On Saturday, Harry is scheduled to visit one of Rio's hillside slums, teach tag-rugby and take beach volleyball lessons.

He goes to Sao Paulo state on Sunday to take part in a polo match for charity.
